Phasing

The only find from the pit fill was an iron knife, which could be either Roman or Anglian in date. However, the stratigraphic relationship indicates an Anglian or later date for the pit.

Discussion

A sub-ovate shaped pit cutting ditch 012AC00135. It was one of a number of pits cutting the ditch. No section drawing was recorded for this feature. The fill was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 3/3). Only one object and no animal bones were recovered.
